It’s a genuine privilege to serve as your State Senator. The General Assembly is in the middle of its 2018 spring legislative session, where many important discussions are taking place. In an effort to best represent you, I would like your feedback on some timely topics.
As you know, Illinois continues to face many financial challenges—challenges that impact our communities, students, and businesses. Just last year, the state income tax was raised from 3.75 percent to 4.95 percent, only adding to the burden placed on the shoulders of our taxpayers. We must get our fiscal house in order by limiting spending, passing balanced budgets, and driving economic reforms that move Illinois forward.
Furthermore, a conversation is currently taking place at the Statehouse surrounding gun safety. I welcome this discussion so that tragedies, like what happened in Las Vegas and Parkland, do not happen again. However, this is a tough issue to tackle, and as a state legislator I take my responsibility very seriously when it comes to protecting the safety of those in our community and
state, while also protecting the rights of law-abiding citizens.
I want to know your thoughts on these issues and more. I hope you take a few moments to complete the survey below.
As always, it is a privilege to serve you in Springfield. I encourage you to contact me if you ever have questions or concerns at either my district office at 847-214-8245 or e-mail me at email@example.com.
