Community Spotlight: St. Charles Fire Chief Joe Schelstreet
This week, Senator McConnaughay spotlights St. Charles Fire Chief Joe Schelstreet for once again earning the designation as a Chief Fire Officer by the Commission on Professional Credentialing.
The designation is awarded for meeting professional, educational, technical, and community service achievements and fulfilling prescribed standards of performance, ethics, and conduct. Chief Schelstreet was originally designated as a Chief Fire Officer in 2015. Each designation is valid for three years.
"This honor is national recognition of Chief Schelstreet's professionalism and outstanding performance," Senator McConnaughay said. "Closer to home, residents of St. Charles know about the dedication, hard work and friendship he has shown during more than 30 years of service to his community."
Chief Schelstreet was featured in a September 26 article on the Kane County Connects website.
